Program offers:
SERVICES TO LESBIAN AND GAY STUDENTS
* Individual counselling for students who are experiencing personal
difficulties, feel depressed, have questions about their sexual
orientation or need help with handling a difficult relationship or
break-up.
* Family counselling if the family is unable to deal with the student’s
sexual orientation.
* General info. and referrals to community services.
* A support group for L/G students meets weekly during the school year
from 4 to 6 pm at 155 College Street.
* Presentations on homosexuality at the repuest of school personnel.
Students, however, may approach their teachers, e.g. family studies,
sociology, health and physical ed., health week committees, etc., and
suggest presentations.
SERVICES TO LESBIAN AND GAY PARENTS
* Support and advocacy for L/G parents experiencing difficulties with
the schools attended by their children.
* Consultation and family counselling for parents who because of their
sexual orientation are in conflict with their children.
* Individual and couple counselling.
* A group for L/G parents. The focus of this group will be to look at
issues and promote changes in the school system.
SERVICES TO LESBIAN AND GAY TEACHERS
* Monthly group meetings for info. sharing, peer support and networking.
* Staff development programs at individual schools at the request of the
school.
* Individual and couple counselling.
* Referrals to outside resources.
* Professional development days and activities on L/G issues.
* Consultations./
* Resource material on Lesbians and Gays.
